Vauxhall has introduced a sporty GS trim level to its Vivaro and Vivaro Electric medium-sized vans, featuring sharper styling and an upgraded interior.

To differentiate it from standard Vivaro vans, GS trim versions come with a new lip spoiler to the front, side skirts and integrated front mud guards. In addition to the enhanced updates, the GS trim also includes exclusive Y-spoke 18-inch black alloy wheels and high-load capacity tyres

The rear of the Vivaro also receives GS specific features, including a two-piece spoiler - claimed to improve stability when unladen, as well as a redesigned rear bumper.

For the interior, GS trim Vivaros will come with GS logos as well as hand-crafted eco-friendly leather seats with bold red stitching, with the addition of perforated material for ventilation.

Adam Wood, Marketing Director, Vauxhall, said: “The GS offers something very unique to LCV buyers. With unique looks and interior updates, it not only stands out on the road, but also maintains the practicality and versatility the Vivaro is known for.

“Vauxhall is known as one of few manufacturers able to offer British businesses a fully electric van across our entire line-up, and we’re continuing that with the GS – available on both Vivaro and Vivaro Electric models.”

The Vivaro Electric in GS trim uses a 75kWh battery that’s claimed to deliver a range of up to 189 miles under WLTP testing. It supports up to 100kW rapid charging, with an 80 percent charge said to take 45 minutes. It also boasts a maximum payload is 1,000kg.

For the non-electric version, the Vivaro GS is powered by a new version of its 2.0-litre Turbo D diesel engine, though now produces 177bhp (180PS) – an increase of 35bhp, (35PS)  and is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. In Panel Van guise, the Vivaro GS is claimed to produce just 145g/km* of CO2, and can achieve up to 51.3mpg.

The new Vivaro and Vivaro Electric GS are now open for orders, with prices starting from £41,000 (excluding VAT) for the Vivaro GS, and £55,000 (excluding VAT) for the Vivaro Electric GS.
