The Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupé, said to be a fusion of the C-Class and E-Class attributes, has launched in the UK, starting from £46,605.

It's available in several specifications, including AMG Line, AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium Plus, and Premier Edition, plus a range of powertrain options, such as mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engines.

Inside, the CLE Coupé features the latest MBUX infotainment system with a 11.9-inch central display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It also includes the third-generation MBUX platform that allows installation of third-party apps and has enhanced voice assistant functions.

Standard equipment across all models includes LED high-performance headlamps, sport steering wheel, ambient lighting, and various assistance systems like Blind Spot Assist and Traffic Sign Assist.

Higher-end models add luxurious touches such as 20” alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, multi-contour front seats, head-up display, and a Burmester® 3D Surround Sound system. The Premier Edition includes additional features like a heated steering wheel and Nappa leather upholstery.

In terms of powertrains, the CLE starts with the 200, which packs a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 204 horsepower and achieving 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds,  before reaching its top speed of 149 mph. The CLE 300 4MATIC brings four-wheel drive, and delivers 258 horsepower with the same engine size for a 0-62mph time of 6.2 seconds and a top speed to 155 mph.

For those craving more power, the CLE 450 4MATIC features a robust 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine, pushing out 381 horsepower, with a swift 0-62mph time of just 4.4 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 155 mph.

The diesel option meanwhile, CLE 220 d, comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine providing 197 horsepower, a 0-62mph sprint of 7.5 seconds, and a top speed of 148 mph.

All engines are mated to a 9G-TRONIC PLUS nine-speed automatic transmission and incorporate mild-hybrid technology, enhancing low-speed torque and efficiency.

Mercedes also announced prcing for its all new E-Class Estate earlier this month, which starts from £57,930.
