What is mobility comparison?
We see Mobility as the vehicles, technologies, products and services that enable people and goods to move around freely.
Karfu is a completely new way to guide you to the best vehicle or access option based on your needs, location, budget, preferences and environmental impact.
We compare using our unique Total Cost of Use methodology, allowing you to compare diverse vehicles across traditional and new ways to access them.
We include vehicles across:
Cars, Vans, Pick-ups, Motorcycles, Mopeds, Bicycles, Scooters and Alternatives.
Our access options include:
Buying (including Finance), Leasing, Subscription, Sharing, Rental, Ride Hailing, Ride Sharing and Mobility-as-a-Service.
Karfu is currently a consumer information only website, with our unique comparison tools only available as part of our Beta programme (register to try them here).
Our mission
Karfu’s mission is to save people and businesses money, time and to help them explore more sustainable vehicle choices.
Karfu wants to help everybody compare ‘Ownership’ with ‘Usership’ quickly and easily, so they can find the right vehicle and access option (or options) for their needs.
Karfu helps people and businesses to save money, time, measure the environmental impact of their vehicles and shows them how to access and enjoy the benefits of alternative mobility options.
Our history
Karfu was founded in 2019 after Sam and Dominic researched the Mobility industry whilst studying for their Executive MBAs at Imperial College Business School.
Karfu have been part of Imperial College’s Enterprise Lab and were the first Business School team to be accepted into their flagship IVMS mentorship programme. We raised funding for the business, brought on board Jon and hired the rest of the team to develop the product ready for our launch this year.
We are a Certified B Corporation, accredited by The Planet Mark and have been part of the Heart of the City programme in London, an initiative which believes every business can be a force for good. We are also members of Tech Zero and the SME Climate Hub.
Karfu was accepted by the FCA into their Green FinTech Challenge (GFC) for 2022. The GFC specifically supports the development and live market testing of innovative new products and services that will aid the transition to a net-zero economy. Karfu is one of only 10 firms accepted and one of 5 in the Regulatory Sandbox.
Karfu also successfully applied for three prestigious Accelerator schemes, including the Milton Keynes Accelerator (run by the Connected Places Catapult), London & Partners Business Growth Programme and the NatWest Accelerator.
