Aehra partners with Miba Battery Systems for bespoke battery packs for future EV models
The collaboration aims to optimise range, efficiency, and integration of battery technology
Aehra, a new, premium EV brand, has announced a partnership with Miba Battery Systems to develop custom battery packs for its SUV and saloon models.
The collaboration with the Austrian-based company aims to optimise range, efficiency and weight-saving, and to seamlessly integrate them into Aehra’s vehicle architecture and body structure.
According to Aehra, the partnership will ensure greater control over the supply chain, and access to the latest advances in battery cell technology and chemistry.
Stefano Mazzetti, Aehra Head of Purchasing and Procurement said: "Miba is particularly well-suited to provide the type of features we wish to have in our batteries to provide optimum range and efficiency and integration with the body structure of our SUV and Sedan."
The development process will prioritise sustainability and repairability, ensuring the long lifespan of both the battery unit and the vehicle.
Aehra says this focus also extends to other parts of the electric powertrain, such as the electric motors and driveline inverters.
The company aims to achieve a range of 497 miles from a potential 120-kilowatt-hour battery, with a peak voltage of 925 volts and the ability to charge at up to 350 kilowatts.
The partnership comes ahead of Aehra’s plans to deliver its vehicles from 2025 in key markets worldwide, including North America, Europe, China, and the Gulf States.
