Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid makes European debut starting at £69,915
The flagship model joins Jeep's electrified lineup providing a claimed EV range of 31 miles
The all-new fifth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee has made its debut in Europe, priced from £69,915.
Available exclusively as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), the Grand Cherokee 4xe joins Jeep's existing lineup of electrified vehicles, including the 4xe versions of the Renegade and Compass, as well as the fully electric Avenger SUV.
Under the hood, the flagship model combines a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, and an eight-speed automatic transmission, all working in conjunction with Jeep's 4x4 system.
The result is 380 horsepower and a torque of 637 Newton-metres, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.3 seconds.
Drivers of the Grand Cherokee 4xe have the flexibility to choose from four different PHEV modes, which Jeep says allows the driver to better optimise the vehicle's performance based on their preferences and needs.
The battery pack offers an all-electric range of up to 31 miles and a claimed range (combined) of up to 434 miles.
In the United Kingdom, customers can choose from a range of trim levels, which include Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, and Summit Reserve grades.
The base, Limited trim features a 10.25-inch driver's display and a 10-inch radio navigation infotainment system.
For off-roading, the Trailhawk trim ( £73,915) takes things up a notch, adding 18-inch wheels with All Terrain tires and skid plates.
The range-topping Summit Reserve grade, starting at £85,615, comes fitted with even larger 21-inch wheels, Palermo leather seats, wood accents and a 19-speaker sound system. In addition to the standard 10-inch infotainment screen is a 10-inch front passenger display.
Jeep says the vehicle also boasts up to 110 advanced safety and security features, which include hands-on Level 2 semi-autonomous driving, a 360-degree camera system and night vision cameras.
Customers in Europe can expect the first deliveries of the Grand Cherokee 4xe PHEV to commence in the third quarter of 2023.
