Jeep has today revealed the all-new Jeep Avenger, the brand’s first-ever battery electric vehicle at the Paris Motor Show.

Orders are now open ahead of its launch in the first half of 2023, and will come as an exclusive First Edition for customers who pre-order the car before November 30.

The Avenger spearheads the introduction of a portfolio of fully electric vehicles right sized for Europe, and is a key component in a global electrification strategy as the brand aims to become a world leader in zero-emission SUVs.

Designed in Italy and built in Poland, the Avenger features a 400 Volt electric powertrain which supplies 156bhp and 260 Nm of torque, and is available in both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations.

It is powered by a 54 kWh battery, and is claimed to deliver a range of 249 miles (400km) on the WLTP cycle, and 342 miles (550 km) on the urban cycle. The battery is also said to recharge from 20-80 percent in 24 minutes using a 100Kw cable.

Jeeps says its new Avenger is also the first front-wheel drive Jeep vehicle to come equipped with its Selec-Terrain system, which offers six driving settings: Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud and Sand.

Antonella Bruno, Head of Jeep Europe in Stellantis said the Jeep Avenger "will be the new entry point to the Jeep range and will allow us to complete our SUV coverage and we expect it to become the bestselling model in our portfolio by 2024.

“Avenger adds another level of electrification to our offering and represents a further step in the Jeep brand’s evolution".

Riding on 18-inch wheels, the car adopts a new version of the Stellantis group’s ECMP platform, which Jeep says will give the Avenger up to 200mm of ground clearance, and “segment-topping” breakover angles of 20° and departure angles of 32° for off-road driving.

The interior features a 10.25- inch touch screen, as well as a full digital cluster available in two variants - seven and 10.25-inches. There's also electronically adjustable leather seats with massage function, as well as a wide sunroof.

Other models to follow include the more rugged Jeep Recon as well as the range-topping, 600bhp Jeep Wagoneer S BEV. The Wagoneer S features a more slick, less squash design, a 0-62mph time of 3.5 seconds, and a claimed range of 400 miles.
