Jeep to sell petrol Avenger in UK from £27,000
A strong interest in petrol-powered versions has lead to its UK launch
Jeep is set to introduce petrol-powered versions of its Avenger compact SUV in the UK starting at £27,000 in the early part of next year.
These models will exclusively feature a manual transmission.
Originally, the petrol Avenger was intended for sale exclusively in Italy, Poland, and Spain, due to the limited electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in those respective markets.
However, due to a substantial number of inquiries from UK dealers, it will now also be available for purchase in the UK.
The initial allocation of the petrol Avenger will be extremely limited, with just 600 units currently on order. Additionally, a mild-hybrid powertrain variant is planned for release at a later date.
Under the hood, the petrol Avenger is equipped with a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine generating 130bhp and 177lb ft of torque. It comes paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
Jeep claims that the petrol Avenger will deliver fuel efficiency of up to 50mpg as per the WLTP cycle.
Customers will have a choice of two trim levels for the Avenger: Sport and Limited.
The Sport variant includes standard features such as 16-inch alloy wheels, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a reversing camera, and LED headlights.
Opting for the Limited trim will provide 17-inch alloy wheels, climate control and heated front seats.
Orders for the petrol Avenger are now being accepted, and accompanies the all-electic version, which originally was the only model meant for the UK market.
