Kia teases flagship EV9 SUV ahead of March 15 debut
The all-electric flagship is expected to start from around £55,000 to £60,000 when it goes on sale later this year
Kia has released teaser footage of its hotly anticipated EV9 SUV flagship, ahead of its official unveiling on March 15.
The clips released by the South Korean firm include shots of the car’s sculpted side profile, which appears to be reminiscent of a Range Rover.
There's also close up shots of the car’s front fascia, which looks to be dominated by a plethora of intricate matrix headlights, as well as of the car’s rear lights.
The video provides no clues as to what size wheels the EV9 will be riding on, but earlier spy shots of the car taken during testing suggest the brand has ditched the concept versions' huge 22-inch wheels with more traditional 21-inch wheels.
While we know the car will accommodate space for up to seven seats, the design of the interior remains very much underwraps. However, it’s expected to feature a large infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster, similar to the Kia Telluride and EV6.
The EV9 is built on Hyundai Motor Group's E-GMP platform and is likely to have a range of at least 300 miles, with pricing is expected to start at around £55,000 to £60,000.
Performance stats also remain unconfirmed for now, though Kia claimed the EV9 concept could complete the 0-60 mph sprint in around 5 seconds, so expect similar figures from the production version.
Kia plans to have 14 EVs in its lineup by 2027, with at least two launches per year starting this year.
