New entry-level BMW iX1 eDrive20 announced with 296-mile range
The all-electric SUV starts from £44,560
The new BMW iX1 eDrive20 has been announced with an electric range of up to 296 miles, making it the most efficient version of the electric SUV.
The iX1 eDrive20 is powered by a single electric motor on the front axle, producing (241 hp) and 310 Nm of torque.
It is equipped with a 64.7kWh battery, which can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 29 minutes using a 100kW DC fast charger.
The iX1 eDrive20 is available in three trim levels: Sport, xLine, and M Sport. Prices start at £44,560 in Sport guise, rising to £46,560 for the xLine and £49,310 for the M Sport.
The iX1 eDrive20 is the first of two electric versions of the X1 SUV. The more powerful iX1 xDrive30 will be launched later this year, with a dual-motor powertrain and a range of up to 230 miles.
Like the more powerful version, the eDrive20 features an identical curved infotainment setup, which comprises a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and a 10.7-inch driver's display
In terms of design, theres minimal visual distinction between the two models, as both follow a comparable design approach that aligns with the aesthetics seen in other electric vehciles in BMW's range, such as the BMW i4 and i5.
The iX1 eDrive20 is available to order now, with first deliveries expected in November 2023.
