The brand new Proace City Electric range from Toyota has been launched. With compact vans designed with zero tailpipe emissions and fully electric powertrains, the Proace City EV range has been created by Toyota as a sustainable and cheaper solution for businesses on the move, with the range also available on the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) government grant - where drivers can receive up to £2,500 off the price.

Toyota Professional has created a range of commercial vehicles where businesses can now try to save money on fuel costs. Running free from fossil fuels allows the Proace City EVs to smoothly and silently drive without producing harmful carbon emissions and avoiding congestion and emissions charges, as well as reduced rates for car tax (Class 1A National Insurance contributions) for businesses.

Toyota and the new Proace City EV range have not compromised regarding the extent of cargo, with an 800kg payload and 750kg towing capacity. The automatic transmission van performs 0-62 mph in 11.2 seconds, with 16" steel wheels. Equipped with a 50kWh battery, the Proace City Electric travel range is up to 161 miles when fully charged. The EVs can also be fully charged using a rapid charger (100kwh) within roughly 30 minutes. Drivers can now manage their preferred EV charging times like fuel combustion engine cars, allowing for a refined and more sustainable driving experience. In addition, Toyota is now offering a free home charger with the Proace City Electric vans (subject to availability), as well as their other plug-in hybrid/electric vehicle ranges, where drivers can receive a free British Gas 7.4kW EV charger and installation of in their homes.

The new EV range interior space has a flat floor and bench seat, which provide seating for up to three people. An integrated table on the folding central seat can be used as a surface for laptops/tablets, and it can be angled towards the driver or passenger. Other standard equipment includes a reverse camera, front and rear parking sensors, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration on the infotainment screen.

Some other benefits of the Toyota Proace City range are commercial vehicles registered after February 2020 and eligible for five years' free roadside assistance. Also, each car has a ten-year manufacturer warranty through the 'Toyota Relax' scheme, a three-year initial manufacturer warranty that can then be extended through regular servicing with a Toyota dealer. Twenty-four months warranty is included with every Proace Service. This is up to 100,000 miles or can be up to 10 years.
