Volkswagen unveils extended-wheelbase ID Buzz with seating for seven
The electric MPV is planned to launch in the UK before the end of the year
Volkswagen has unveiled the extended-wheelbase version of the ID Buzz, an electric MPV capable of seating seven people.
Scheduled for release in the UK by the end of 2023, the vehicle will be the first VW model to incorporate an upgraded 282bhp rear electric motor.
The specific weight of the vehicle has not been disclosed by Volkswagen, but they claim it can do 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds and has a limited top speed of 99mph.
The ID Buzz LWB will also come with a choice of 77kWh and 85kWh batteries, both capable of charging at 11kW AC and 200kW DC charging speeds.
No official figures regarding energy consumption or driving range have been provided yet.
The Volkswagen ID Buzz LWB retains the retro-inspired design of the standard ID Buzz, but with elongated proportions and the largest panoramic roof ever fitted on a Volkswagen.
With a length of 4962mm, the LWB model is 250mm lengthier than the standard version launched in 2022.
The cabin of the ID Buzz LWB boasts a new central infotainment display, now measuring 12.9 inches, compared to the previous 10.0-inch screen, and the touch-sensitive sliders for the air conditioning and audio now feature illumination, making it easier to operate at night.
Production will take place alongside the standard version at the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles manufacturing facility in Hanover, Germany, ahead of pricing to be announced at a later date.
