Porsche unveils new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid as new model flagship
The latest addition to Porsche's electrified SUV lineup boasts 728 horsepower, and a claimed 50-mile electric range
Porsche has revealed the new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, the most powerful and efficient version of the SUV yet.
The plug-in hybrid SUV is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine and an electric motor, which together produce 728 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque. This enables the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 183 mph.
The electric motor draws power from a 25.9-kWh battery, which gives the SUV an all-electric range of up to 50 miles. The battery can be recharged in as little as 2.5 hours using a 11kW on-board charger.
The Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid also features a number of other performance-enhancing features, such as rear-wheel steering and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).
In addition to the standard model, Porsche is also offering a GT Package for the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid. This package includes a number of performance upgrades, such as larger brakes, a sportier suspension, and a more aggressive body kit.
The Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is the latest in a line of electrified Porsche SUVs, and comes following plug-in hybrid versions of the Macan and Panamera.
The new SUV is available to order now, with prices starting at £130,200 for the SUV and £132,600 for the Coupe.
