Volkswagen is looking to improve the popularity of its best-selling model, the Tiguan, with the introduction of a new Black Edition trim, which offers new styling and a range of premium features.

 

Positioned between the R-Line Edition and R trims, each Tiguan Black Edition comes equipped with a styling pack that includes R-Line body-coloured bumpers, rear privacy glass, black decorative trims and exterior mirror housings. 

 

The Black Edition also boasts 20-inch Suzuka Black alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof and metallic paint available in three colours: Deep Black Pearl, Dolphin Grey, and Reflex Silver. 

 

For an additional £475, customers can opt for a white 'Mother-of-Pearl' paint finish. 

 

The Tiguan Black Edition comes with several standard features, including a seven-speed direct-shift gearbox (DSG) with shift paddles, plus a heated multifunction sports steering wheel with touch controls

 

Volkswagen has equipped Black Edition models with the firm’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system as standard, and a choice of engines are available. 

 

The car can be fitted with either a 2.0 TSI engine making 187bhp, or a choice of 2.0 TDI engines, making either 148bhp or 197bhp. 

 

Additionally, the Black Edition trim will also be available on the eHybrid version of the Tiguan, which has a 1.4 litre setup making 241bhp

 

The non-hybrid versions are available now and are priced from  £42,340, while the eHybrid will launch on July 13, priced from £42,835.
