Swedish electric mobility brands Polestar and CAKE have announced a second edition of their fully electric moped, the CAKE Makka Polestar.

The first edition was released in 2021 and was finished in a Polestar Snow matte colour.

Further elements to help set it apart from a standard Makka, included an exclusive headlight design, as well as a superior suspension set-up from specialist form, Ohlins.

This new edition comes in Polestar’s sky-colored paint job - the same used on the Polestar 2 Concept which was unveiled earlier this year. It also features a detachable rear carrier for improved cargo carrying.

The powertrain remains the same as the first edition, consisting of a 2.8kW motor and a 1.5kWh battery - good for a claimed range of 34 miles. It also has a top speed of 28mph.

It will be available exclusively to selected Polestar markets via the Polestar Additionals webshop from December 14, 2022, with a retail price of £4,350.

The CAKE Makka Polestar edition is the latest product of the partnership between the two Swedish firms, and signals Polestar’s willingness to enter the market of electric micromobility.

It comes following a recent announcement made by Polestar’s CEO Thomas Ingenlath, that the company will start developing its own, bespoke e-bikes, building on another partnership it has with e-bike firm, Allebike.

It would be the latest car firm to introduce its one range of e-bikes following the likes of Porsche and Peugeot.
