Citroen has announced a new version of its all-electric Ami model.

Dubbed the Ami Tonic, this latest urban mobility solution now comes in a khaki and yellow colour scheme, along with new external features.

The car rides on bespoke wheel trims, while the front features new headlamp bezels inspired by sunglasses.

Unlike the normal Ami, the Ami Tonic also comes with decorative roof rails as well as plus and minus stickers on the car’s A-pillers - a nod to its electric powertrain.

The new colour scheme is carried over to the inside too, with the Ami Tonic featuring yellow door pulls and bag hooks.

Mathieu Wandon, Citroën Head of Graphic Design, said: “The Citroën Design team wanted to bring a touch of freshness and vitality to this new version.

“The combination of yellow and khaki, combined with clever technical features gives My Ami Tonic a playful edge, making it a toy for grown-ups aged 16 and up.”

Beneath some of the aesthetic changes, the Ami Tonic shares the same electric powertrain as the standard Ami, coming equipped with a 5.5kWh battery that can be fully charged in three hours.

Both models also have a 6kW electric motor and a top speed of 28mph, delivering a range of up to 46 miles.

Following the sales success of the standard Ami, which has achieved over 2,000 pre-orders in the UK alone, the Tonic version is available to order now, priced from £8,695.

Both versions are expected to reach showrooms by the end of 2022.
