With an evolved style, BMW introduced the new full-electric BMW i7 xDrive60. Details on the first-of-its-kind all-inclusive digital experience with the new BMW Theatre Screen and Interaction Bar, giving the premium manufacturer a new luxurious interior design.
Deliveries are expected to commence in the UK from December 2022, and The BMW i7 xDrive60 is priced from £107,400 (RRP). Key specifications of the new model highlight a new interior design that includes new comfort features and an innovative digital experience - with an all new BMW Theatre Screen and Interactive Bar. The BMW i7 delivers plug-in electrification of the vehicle, with the choice of excellence feature.
Exterior Features
From an exterior perspective, noticeable changes have been made to the new electrified version of the BMW 7 Series. The grill at the front of the EV looks more prominent than the previous models, and a two-piece split in the headlight unit contributes to the BMWs new look. Blue trim elements have also been incorporated into the framework of the BMW to represent the new electrified nature of the vehicle.
One of the added features to the BMW i7 is the automatic opening of the front and rear doors, alongside its monolithic features added to the window frames and handles of the BMW i7. It all relates closely to the characteristics of the luxury Rolls-Royce manufacturer. Is it replication or inspiration?
The feature of a panoramic glass sunroof is fitted as standard to BMW. Differentiating it from other models, the new BMW i7 consists of a steel frame around the fixed glass surface. With the sliding headliner of the sunroof still present in the new model, it can be operated electrically to slide open or closed.
Interior Theatre Screen
Highlighting the key features of the new BMW Series 7 interior, the vehicle has a unique built-in 31.3-inch 8K Theatre Screen. The theatre screen is proposed as the latest generation of the multi-sensory experience brought to the market by BMW iDrive and the BMW Operating System 8. In addition to this new feature, it also has the new curved display and interactive bar making the BMW interior experience all the more worthwhile.
The built-in car entertainment with Amazon Fire TV lets passengers enjoy content from popular apps, allowing them to stream unlimited videos, play games, listen to music/music videos, watch downloadable programs and get up to date information, all whilst being on the move.
To complement the built-in BMW Theatre Screen, an automated rear shade system is programmed to close when the screen is turned on, and lighting is dimmed in the rear compartment, creating the ultimate ambience. Audio can be easily enjoyed by the EVs surround system or via connecting up to 2 pairs of Bluetooth headphones. When not in use, the screen folds into the vehicle's ceiling, out of the way.
BMW Curved Display and BMW Interaction Bar
Moving the attention from the rear interior to the driver-focused cockpit, the new BMW Series 7 consists of a 12.3-inch curved display behind the steering wheel and a 14.9-inch diagonal control display screen.
The BMW Interactive Bar houses a touch-sensitive control that can be adjusted according to the driver/passengers' preference for climate control and ventilation. Using the BMW Interactive Bar evolves the driver-to-vehicle interaction. The Interaction Bar combines the essential functions of control with ambient lighting and the ability to decorate the interior to the desired appearance. The righteous approach to a new design brought to us by the electrical BMW 7 Series reflects BMW's mission of being emission-free yet still maintaining luxury in its brand. The carbon footprint for the BMW i7 will be disclosed in a validated certificate by independent auditors before the model's production, which starts in July 2022.
